Prestamos CDFI

CPLC Prestamos is an award-winning Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity that has provided small business loans and high-quality technical support services to business owners in underserved communities since 1980. CPLC Prestamos now offers loan products, business consulting services and investment opportunities in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.

In 2021, CPLC Prestamos CDFI was named the #1 U.S. Small Business Administration PPP lender in the country by number of loans and the #3 lender by dollar volume. Our team processed $7.6 billion in approved loans through this program, with an average loan amount of $15,526 and 78% of loans serving minority-owned businesses.

Prestamos loan products are designed to address common barriers to capital such as:

  • Lack of collateral
  • Credit blemishes
  • Insufficient equity and or cash flow

In addition, Prestamos provides technical support to its clients.

Community Development Financial Institution

CPLC Prestamos is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), which is a private-sector, financial intermediary with community development as its primary mission. CDFIs supply the tools enabling economically-disadvantaged individuals and underserved communities to become self-sufficient stakeholders in their own future. These tools include providing financial services, loans, and investments; offering training and technical assistance services; and promoting development efforts that enable individuals and communities to effectively use credit and capital.

Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) regulations explicitly recognize loans and investments in CDFIs as a qualified CRA activity.
