Making an

Volunteer for La Causa
Join our community of volunteers, helpers, and changemakers.
Are you looking for an opportunity to give back?
With everything going on in the world, it can be easy to lose hope. But if you look a little more closely, you'll see a community of helpers showing up to make a difference. They may not be in the headlines, but they're the ones behind the scenes making their community a little bit brighter.
Here are just a few ways you can volunteer in your community:
- Prepare a meal for a family so their children don't have to do homework on an empty stomach
- Provide support for a woman healing from domestic violence
- Help the young child of farmworkers learn English so they are prepared to succeed in school and life
You have the power to change a life today. And you may even find yours changes, too.

Long-Term Program Volunteers
Long-term program volunteers and unpaid interns provide direct service, therefore go through a thorough onboarding experience to ensure safety of service recipients. These volunteers are regularly scheduled in the program and made a long-term commitment. Must 18 years of age or older with valid identification.

One-Time (Episodic) volunteers are typically volunteering for one assignment and then complete. They are not providing direct service, therefore are subject to only a basic Sterling background check. Background checks do not automatically cause disqualification, and we do accept those looking to complete community service hours for a government agency for certain projects. Must 18 years of age or older with valid identification.

Corporate and Group Volunteers are teams of individuals—often from businesses, schools, or community organizations—who participate in a shared volunteer project. These opportunities are designed to be collaborative, high-impact, and supportive of CPLC’s mission. Groups are scheduled on a case-by-case basis based on program needs, group size, and activity type. Ideal for team-building, fulfilling corporate social responsibility goals, or giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
